19 August 2024 Media Release Fong Steps Down as Falcons President Dr Neale Fong will step down as President of the West Perth Football Club at end of the season. Fong was brought in by the WA Football Commission in 2018 after the club was placed in voluntary administration and has served for seven years.
Dr. Neale played for Nollamara between 1981-1985 and 1987-1989 after short stints as West Perth Football Club in the WAFL. He won the League’s C.J Jamieson Medal for the Best and Fairest player in A-Grade on three occasions 1981, 1982 and 1983. He has represented the WA State Amateur Team three times and captained the team in 1984.
As a registered medical practitioner with over 35 years' experience in a wide range of leadership roles in the private and public health systems, Dr Fong has. In 1991, Neale joined Wanneroo Football Club in the Sunday Football League and, under the coaching of brother Les, won the 19Sunday Football League premierships. After retiring from playing, Neale continued to be involved with the game. In 1993, he joined West Perth as a Director, a position he held for two seasons.
